Baily Garner x National Retrofit Hub: A vision For a Strong Retrofit System
In partnership with the National Retrofit Hub, we have published a new report on a shared Vision for a Stronger Retrofit System, setting out a roadmap for transforming the UK’s retrofit sector and unlocking the full social, economic and environmental benefits of improving existing homes.
The report comes at a critical time for the industry, as the Government’s Warm Homes Plan provides renewed momentum for tackling fuel poverty, improving energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions. While welcoming this investment, the report highlights the need for a long-term, coordinated approach that goes beyond short-term funding cycles and fragmented delivery programmes.
Drawing on practical experience from across the sector. The report calls for a national commitment that strengthens local delivery, builds skills and capacity, and provides greater certainty for organisations delivering retrofit programmes. It also emphasises the importance of designing policies in collaboration with those working on the ground and measuring success by the real-world performance of homes and the outcomes experienced by residents.
By creating a stronger, more resilient retrofit system, the UK can accelerate progress towards its fuel poverty and net zero ambitions while ensuring millions of people benefit from warmer, healthier and more affordable homes.
The report reflects a shared commitment from us and National Retrofit Hub to support the development of a retrofit sector that is fit for the future and capable of delivering lasting benefits for communities across the country.
