Matthew Allcock Wins Retrofit Coordinator of the Year Award
May 29, 2025
Matthew Allcock has won the prestigious Retrofit Coordinator of the Year Award, hosted by the Retrofit Academy.
This achievement highlights the exceptional contributions Matthew has made through the application of his technical expertise and dedication to customer and tenant satisfaction.
As Retrofit Technical Lead at Baily Garner, Matthew has aided the delivery of some of the country’s largest decarbonisation projects and demonstrated a passion for guiding the housing sector on its journey toward net zero.
Ben Nixon, National Retrofit Lead and Senior Associate Partner at Baily Garner, said: “Matthew is an exemplary retrofit coordinator and brings to the role a wealth of technical knowledge accumulated from his experience as a building surveyor. We’re proud to see his achievements recognised by this winning nomination, which was heavily supported by testimonials from our clients.”
Matthew embodies Baily Garner’s purpose – ‘to positively impact people’s lives’ – through his passion for improving the lives of social housing tenants. Notably, his work with Raven Housing Trust across its SHDF Wave 1 and 2.1 schemes showcases his dedication to engaging with residents from the early stages of projects.
Through early and continuous engagement during Wave 1, Matthew ensured that retrofit measures not only met technical standards but also significantly improved residents’ quality of life through improved thermal comfort and substantial reductions in heating costs.
His efforts led to high levels of client and resident satisfaction that have continued throughout Wave 2.1 works.
Raven Housing Trust commented: “Matthew’s holistic approach to retrofit coordination, which includes thorough monitoring and evaluation processes, has been a key factor in his success.
His hands-on site evaluations and problem-solving skills have contributed significantly toward the effective and timely delivery of projects, as well as their compliance with PAS 2035 standards.
Matthew’s dedication to education and knowledge sharing further underscores his suitability for this award, having conducted numerous training sessions and technical reviews for clients to boost their confidence in delivering future retrofit projects.
Matthew continues to support the wider social housing sector as it bids for Warm Homes: SHF Wave 3 funding through our advisory appointment on the government’s Retrofit Information, Support and Expertise (RISE) service.”
